Christmas Theme

During this three-week theme, the class learns the true meaning of Christmas with the help of our story books and nativity figures. We will also arrange for the class to go into the church sanctuary to listen to a story by our minister and to sing Christmas carols.

At our science table, a small Christmas tree is displayed for the children to decorate and redecorate.

A white Christmas tree with coloured lights and garlands is brought into the school. One of our snacks is served with only the lights from the tree to show the way.

In the art area, the children enjoy making a present for their parents as well as both the paper, cranberry and popcorn chains. There is an opportunity for interested parents or guardians to help out. A variety of collage materials are used to decorate Christmas shapes.

We will have a Christmas concert in mid-December - the date will be announced in advance.

As a finale to the theme the children have a Christmas party.
